First modern edition, from Telemann’s own engraving of 1731-2, of 72 cantatas in seven volumes. Each volume in the series includes hardcover score, vocal score, and instrument parts. This volume contains nine cantatas, eight for soprano and one for alto voice. These are the remaining 9 cantatas for flute and another instrument. Five are for two flutes (traversi); two for flute and violin; one for flute and oboe. The ninth cantata is for the interesting combination "violetta, or bassoon, and flute." Because Telemann specified the viola in many of the cantatas it appears that the violetta might have been an alto viol, or possibly an English Violet, a tenor viola d'amore with 2 sets of sympathetic strings.
