First published in 1625 by Wolff Seyfferts, these pieces are predominantly dance tunes: “Pleasurable Courants… which can be enjoyed by all manner of musical instrument in 4 and 5 parts”.
Most of these Courants fit comfortably for a consort of recorders or viols, other wind and string instruments or mixed consorts. The volumes include helpful performance suggestions and editorial comments.
Edited by George Simmons and Philip Neuman.
Volume I (1-15) is available individually here, Volume II (16-30) here, and Volume IV (46-60) here.
