Couranten Lustgärtlein, Volume IV (46-60) (1625) for five parts. This edition comes with added Tenor and Altus parts in C clefs.

First published in 1625 by Wolff Seyfferts, these pieces are predominantly dance tunes: “Pleasurable Courants… which can be enjoyed by all manner of musical instrument in 4 and 5 parts”.

Editorial suggestions: While many of the Courants fit comfortably for a consort of recorders, the top part may require the use of a sopranino, or an alto if reading down the octave. A viol or mixed consort with continuo will be lovely.

Edited by George Simmons and Philip Neuman.

Volume I (1-15) is available here, Volume II (16-30) here, and both Vols. I & II here.
